Thirty years of experience collecting outcomes (PROMs) data has provided Dr. David Fisher of OrthoIndy with invaluable expertise in this arena that more and more payors and others are recognizing as an important part of quality improvement programs.

In this webinar, Dr. Fisher will describe his collection methods and how outcomes data has provided a means for studying surgical outcomes with various implant devices and surgical techniques, quality assessment, and quality improvement.

In various process improvement initiatives over the years, they have studied cost containment, pain management, and early discharge, resulting in improved patient outcomes.

Dr. Fisher added an automated system in 2014 to decrease the cost and further increase the effectiveness of their outcomes data collection process. This system has also provided a tremendous platform for patient education and engagement.

Participants will learn:

• How collecting patient-reported outcomes data provides value to practicing orthopedic surgeons and healthcare systems
• Strategies for quality assessment and quality improvement
• How to overcome challenges in data collection and keeping patients engaged for longitudinal studies
• Benefits of improved patient education and guidance
