The approach has been comprehensive, combining marketing, clinical, and operational tools and services in order to prepare SRM to deliver value-based care in an efficient and effective manner. So far savings of $1.5M have been achieved.

In this webinar, Dr. Margaret McEvoy, Chief of Staff at Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital and Vince Capasso, Senior Director Operational Process Design at Intralign will review the approach that was undertaken, starting with a comprehensive market analysis of the Total Joint program and then moving into the clinical and operational improvement work completed. Together they will discuss many common problems that plague Total Joint and OR Operations and how they partnered to make significant changes and improvements.

A few problem areas that will be covered include:

  • How to develop an efficient and clinically effective patient flow in the Total Joint Program
  • How to create a fair, comprehensive, and transparent block scheduling process

He is a certified Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt and holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting Administration degree from Southern New Hampshire University and a Master of Finance degree from the Bentley University.

Margaret McEvoy picMargaret McEvoy is a Partner with Anesthesia & Analgesia Medical (AAM) Group in Santa Rosa, CA. AAM Group has over 50 professionals and serves 25 Hospitals in the Santa Rosa area. She serves as the elected Chief of Staff for Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital as well as the Operating Room Medical Director. Margaret is Board certified, she started her career in nursing and then went to Medical school completing her Medical Degree and anesthesia residency at the University of Southern CA, Davis.

Courtney Hurwitz, Orthopedic Service Line Manager for the Center of Bone & Joint Health at Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital

Courtney graduated with a Bachelor of Human Biology in 1998 and a Master of Physical Therapy in 2000 from Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Prior to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital, Courtney worked as an acute care physical therapist at O’Connor Hospital in San Jose, CA and assisted with building their total joint replacement program and served as the Center Coordinator of Clinical Education. In 2008, Courtney moved to Santa Rosa, CA and became the Total Joint Patient Navigator at Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital. In 2012, Courtney’s role expanded into the Orthopedic Service Line Manager, overseeing the Center for Bone & Joint Health which comprises both the joint replacement and spine service lines. She also oversees the Orthopedic Physician Management Group, LLC, and the Spine Physician Management Group in addition to developing Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital’s “Bone & Joint Health Network”. In 2015, Courtney received one of the North Bay Business Journal’s “Forty under 40” awards.  Courtney currently resides in Santa Rosa with her husband and young daughter.
